Lock in Your Motivation (Integration)
There is a subtle difference between intention and motivation. While intention means the purpose of doing something, motivation determines the reason for committing an act.
We treat “reasons” quite differently in this Quest. We should go deeper than just understanding intentions. Getting clear on what motivates you, gives you power. This will be the key to your success throughout our journey.
Learning how to tap into what motivates you, on-demand, is one of the core preconditions for building The Habit of Ferocity. Today's exercise below will train you how to tap into your deep seeded desires and use them as motivation to achieve all you want in life, but currently relate to as impossible.
Revisit your values and reasons for taking this Quest.
If you haven’t, dig deeper. Write in your journal:
Why is doing this Quest important to you?
How does it relate to what’s truly important to you in life?
Reread what you wrote and assess if it truly excites you and propels you to move forward.
Create or gather physical proof, as many as possible, that represent what motivates you. (Example: family photos, your ultimate role model in life, or your dream career)
Attach them somewhere visible in your physical space. Get creative. The goal is to remind yourself, on a daily basis, to come back to your learning space and continue your Quest.
